Hancock shuts out Pearl River Central, 5-0, to open second round of MHSAA playoffs

The second round of the MHSAA 6A softball playoffs featured a Coast vs. Coast showdown, as Pearl River Central hosted Hancock to kick off the series.

The Lady Hawks jumped ahead 1-0 in the second inning and never looked back, ending the night with the shutout 5-0 victory following Teegan DeWitt’s stellar performance in the circle.

Hancock will host Pearl River Central for the second game of the series on Friday at 6:30 p.m. The Lady Hawks could advance to the third round of the playoffs with a win, while the Lady Devils will look to even up the series and force a winner-take-all game three.
