Hancock Library System hosts 29th Annual Holiday Tree Gala
The Hancock Library System is holding a free and family-friendly holiday event that runs all throughout the month of December.
The 29th Annual Holiday Tree Gala is presented by the library system with the support of The Library Foundation of Hancock County.
The event is open to the public and offers theme-decorated holiday trees at five local library branches.
It’s also the perfect opportunity for pictures with Santa.
This years’ theme is Candy Canes on Library Lane, but businesses, organizations, and non-profits could decorate their trees however they wished.
Overall first, second, and third place winners will receive cash prizes for their creativity and participation.
“The holiday trees are a wonderful way to kind of get in the spirit of the season and we’re so appreciative to our local businesses for participating. And we try to outdo ourselves every year, we have one more tree at this branch that we did last year. We have 35 trees just at this branch. And, we have 5 other branches and we have trees all over those branches.”
On Tuesday, Pearlington Library will be hosting their open house.
And last but not least, Diamondhead Library hosts their tree next Thursday, December 14.
