Hancock High School Ace Teegan Dewitt commits to PRCC Softball Team

NEWS 25 had the honor of bragging on this one for our WXXV Student Athlete of the Week two seasons ago, and she was just a Sophomore then! Sports Reporter Ansley Brent was truly impressed by Teegan Dewitt then, and she continues to amaze her as she’s entering her senior season and now announcing her college commitment.

Teegan Dewitt is truly the total package both on and off the field in both the circle and batters box,  and she announced she’ll be shipping her skills to Pearl River Community College following graduation from Hancock High School.

Dewitt has recorded 500 career strikeouts, 184 of those coming this past season, along with a .78, yes you read that right, a 0.78 ERA.

She can swing the bat too with a 100 career hits, .541 batting average, and 38 RBI’s.

Along with leading the Lady Hawks as their ace and power hitter to the State Championship match earlier this year, Dewitt was named the District 6A Region 4 MVP, Pitcher of the Year, All District first team, while also playing in the GCC Futures All-Star game and MS Association of Coaches All-Star game.

Her best days are yet to come, and the PRCC Wildcats are getting a good one to say the very least.
