Hancock County school board seat too close to call

Hancock County will have to wait on affadavit ballots and voter ID validations to determine the School Board District 2 seat.

Hancock County Circuit Clerk Kendra Necaise said there was a strong turnout for Tuesday’s election.

With 99 percent of the precincts reporting, Daniel Henley leads incumbent Tammy Ladner Garber by three votes in the District 2 school board race. Henley had 634 votes to Garber’s 631.

But there are 53 affadavit ballots and 13 voter IDs to validate before the election can be certified, in five days.

S. Trent Favre ran unopposed for Hancock County Court judge.

Donna Henry was upoosed for Election Commissioner 4 and Ray C. Ladner won the District 1 School Board seat.
