Hancock County residents get to know candidates at meet and greet

Hancock County residents had a chance to get up close and personal with candidates running for local office.

American Legion Post 77 in Waveland hosted a candidate meet and greet Saturday. Those running for sheriff, judgeships, district supervisors spots, and other officers in Hancock County were among the many taking part in the event.

Guests were able to get to know more about their local leaders and hear what initiatives they are pushing for in this year’s elections.

John Bradford is running for chancery clerk. He says he is using opportunities like the meet and greet to connect with voters. “This is a great opportunity because the only opportunity you get, getting up close and personal, is going door to door. With this opportunity, people get to come out here, meet you and those are people that are very interested and care about their county and not saying the ones that couldn’t make it here today aren’t, but it gives that opportunity to make that personal connection that you can only get going door to door.”

American Legion Post 77 says they are looking forward to doing more candidate meet and greets as election season heats up.
