Hancock County man killed in industrial accident identified

A Hancock County killed Friday in an industrial accident at Jindal Tubular has been identified.

St. Tammany Parish Coroner Dr. Charles Preston said 25-year-old Tyde Woody died of multiple blunt force trauma injuries. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

Woody was one of two employees at Jindal Tubular who were injured in an industrial accident Friday morning. Woody died at Slidell Memorial Hospital.

Hancock County Port and Harbor Executive Director Blaine LaFontaine confirmed the accident but had few details, other than that he was made aware about 11 a.m. that two employees were injured in an incident involving pipes at the plant in Port Bienville.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department is the lead investigative agency into the details of the accident.

Jindal Tubular makes large steel pipes as big as 60 inches in diameter and as long as 80 feet.
