Hancock County deputy killed in wreck on U.S. 90
A corrections officer with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office died Friday night
31-year-old Deputy Shari Rouse of Perkinston was killed in an accident on Highway 90 about 6:30 p.m.
The Sheriff’s Department posted to social media that the accident happened in front of the Sheriff’s Office on Highway 90.
“As a corrections officer, Shari served with dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of others. She was more than just a coworker, as she was a valued member of our team and a true friend to many,” the post read.
“Please join us in praying for Shari’s family, as well as the members of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office who had to confront the sudden loss of a beloved colleague and dear friend. May we all find comfort in the cherished memories we have of Shari.”
Rouse is survived by her husband, Austin, and 10-year-old daughter, Carolyne.
