Hancock County CASA hosted their 9th annual Light of Hope ceremony

Hancock County CASA hosted their ninth annual Light of Hope ceremony tonight to raise awareness for abused and neglected children in our community.

Tonight, CASA recognized individuals who have gone above and beyond to protect local children.

Awards given during the ceremony include the CASA Advocate of the Year, the CPS Case Worker of the Year, the Outstanding Community Professional, and Champion for Children. Hancock County Youth Court Justice Judge Trent Favre said, “April is dedicated to child abuse awareness and so this is one of the events that CASA sponsors to bring awareness to the community about the importance of being aware of child abuse and neglect and then recognizing community heroes, whether they are with CPS or within the CASA agency its self. Recognizing those people that have contributed so much to being the voice of the child.”

Hancock County representatives, volunteers, advocates, and others apart of protecting youth in our community attended the ceremony.
