Hancock County Board of Supervisors appoints interim sheriff

HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- The Hancock County Board of Supervisors appointed former Patrol Division Commander John Alison as the interim sheriff of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office Thursday morning.

This move comes after the recent retirement of former Hancock County Sheriff Ricky Adam.

Alison has spent years with the sheriff’s office and previously served in several leadership positions.

The move provides stability within the department while search for a permanent sheriff continues.

Alison will resume the role effective immediately.
