Hampton Inn & Suites holding benefit for Jackson County Animal Shelter

This Thursday, you can have a dog to help a dog and some cats, too.

Hampton Inn & Suites in Ocean Springs is partnering with the Jackson County Animal Shelter to raise money for operating expenses.

The hotel will be offering an $8 hot dog plate lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with the proceeds benefiting the shelter.

Hilton Hotels, the parent company of Hampton Inn & Suites, has made all of its Hampton properties pet-friendly and it will match all money raised Thursday.

Dogs for Dawgs will take place in the lobby area of the Hampton Inn on Washington Avenue near I-10 in Ocean Springs. Hampton Inn & Suites GM Randy Gould said, “We can’t wait, we hope it’s big. We’d like everybody to come in Thursday and buy a hot dog. You can come right to the hotel and pick it up. You can call us if it’s a bigger order or if you want it at a specific time. We want to raise as much money as we can.”

Maridee Mallette with the Jackson County Animal Shelter said, “I’m excited. Hopefully we’ll raise some money and get some animals adopted. We need that so you all please come and see us.”

The Dogs for Dawgs event is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hampton Inn & Suites in Ocean Springs.
