Halloween Safety
A not-so-spooky scene took place at the Hancock County Library tonight. Action heroes, princesses and even a miniature Scooby-Doo showed up for early Halloween fun.
This is the eighth year the library has hosted this event which aims to help keep kids safe as they are out trick-or-treating this weekend.
The library teamed up with Coast Electric and the police department in Bay St. Louis to create a night of fun and safety.
Officers reminded the children to avoid strangers, travel in groups and have their parents always check their treats.
Programming Coordinator Nel DuComb said, “This event definitely helps keep children safer because often children come with their siblings and we find that the older siblings do look after the little ones. When they come year after year, the message really does get through to them and they’re very conscious of what’s going on around them during the Halloween events.”
Coast Electric is hosting Trunk-or-Treat tomorrow night at 6 p.m. at their Highway 603 location in the Kiln.
