H.S.S.M. Finds Foster Homes for 7 Abandoned Puppies

The Humane Society of South Mississippi (H.S.S.M.) has had an overwhelming response after a box of seven lab mix puppies was abandoned on the front door step earlier this week.

Thankfully, the puppies have all found foster homes, as they are still too small for adoption. While the puppies are cozy in their new homes, H.S.S.M. still has five full rooms of animals that are in need of additional care. These animals range from small dogs and puppies to cats and large dogs.

Krystyna Schmitt, Marketing Specialist for H.S.S.M., says, "We’ve actually been overwhelmed by the response for the puppies that were abandoned, which we’re so glad that we were able to, in a matter of hours really, place all of those animals into foster homes. Their foster homes, of course, will have first right to adopt. One of the perks that we offer our fosters for opening their homes to the animals for an extended amount of time is $20 off the adoption fee."

H.S.S.M. still has 50 animals in need of foster homes. They say opening your home to an animal for just two weeks could save a life.
