Gun accident injures six-year-old in Saucier
A six-year-old boy was airlifted to the USA Medical Center in Mobile with non-life threatening injuries after playing with a gun in Saucier.
Around 7 a.m., the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting on Reese Drive. According to Sheriff Troy Peterson, when deputies arrived on the scene, they found out two brothers age eight and six were involved.
The six-year-old was playing with a gun he found in a dresser inside the home. When handing the gun to his older brother, the gun went off.
The children’s legal guardian is their grandmother, who was in a different room of the house when the accident happened.
There are no charges filed at this time.
