Gulfport’s Kate Smith named All-American by United Soccer Coaches

The Gulfport Girls Soccer team won the 6A state championship last season with just three seniors on the roster. Leading the way is an insanely talented group of under-classman one of which was just named All-American.

Today, Gulfport’s Kate Smith was given the nod by the United Soccer Coaches following her sensational sophomore season for the Lady Admirals.

On the 26 players on the team, Smith is the only one from Mississippi and is one of just three sophomores.

Smith was a big part of Gulfport’s undefeated 21-0-4 overall record and the rising junior striker always rose to the pressure-cooker moments, scoring Gulfport’s third goal in a 3-1 win over Clinton in the state title game.
