Gulfport women accused of robbing man at gunpoint in his home

Two Gulfport women are charged with armed robbery in Vancleave.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said 20-year-old Janaisha Lee and 25-year-old Janay Ward are charged with armed robbery. They were taken to the Jackson County jail and are being held without bond pending an initial court appearance Wednesday.

Sheriff John Ledbetter said the women allegedly held up a Vancleave man in his home on Friday, stealing his wallet, money and cellphone at gunpoint.

The women also left the home in what investigators determined was Ward’s car. They found the vehicle Monday at Ward’s home in Gulfport.
