Gulfport woman charged with aggravated assault after hitting pedestrian with vehicle

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)-A Gulfport woman has been arrested and charged with one count of aggravated assault.

On August 4, officers responded to the area of Orange Grove Road and Highway 49 for a report of an accident involving a pedestrian.

During the investigation, it was determined that 24-year-old Jaelyn Marie Breaux and the victim had an argument. As the victim began to walk away, Breaux got into her vehicle and struck the victim before fleeing the scene.

Breaux was located and taken into custody a short time later.

She was processed and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center where she is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
