Gulfport students give
Tis the season of giving, and that’s just what a group of Gulfport High School students did today, handing out Christmas presents to 24 kids.
Construction students built these wooden nutcrackers with supplies donated from Home Depot and True Value. Selling the statues as a fundraiser, they raised over 1300 dollars and used the money to purchase gifts for underprivileged students throughout the Gulfport School District.
This morning these kindhearted teenagers played Santa, delivering the presents they purchased. Students, Autumn Lopez and Ashley Brock, say feels great to give to others. “To be able to provide them presents to have a good Christmas is just really humbling, and it’s just really gratifying to know that we were able to help them.”
The students raised enough money to purchase about five presents for each child.
