Gulfport solid waste meeting

It was the last of the series of public meetings the City of Gulfport put together to educate residents on their new contract with Waste Pro.
Tonight’s meeting took place at the Isaiah Fredricks Community Center off of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Gulfport. Concerned citizens attended tonight’s meeting in hopes of getting some answers with the new six year contract Gulfport has with Waste Pro.
Although some things will remain the same, like trash pick-up days, residents are still having a few problems with their trash being picked up. Gulfport Resident Mary Spinks-Thigpen said, “Some of those issues, I guess, with getting confused on not finishing their pick-up and then they’ll come back the next day to pick-up what they did not get a chance to pick up. I look forward to it being taken care of.”
Gulfport’s new solid waste contract with Waste Pro will go into effect October 1st and if you have any questions or concerns with Waste Pro call their 3-1-1 number.
