Gulfport Soccer Standout Makes Early Decision on Louisiana-Lafayette

They say when you know, you know. Some of us just know earlier than others. At least, that’s the case for Gulfport soccer standout Alexis Arnoult, who’s already got her college plans locked down.
On Wednesday, Gulfport’s leading scorer committed to Louisiana-Lafayette and keep in mind, she’s only a junior. Despite interest from other schools like Southern Miss, North Texas, Spring Hill, William Carey, and Mississippi College, Arnoult was so sold on ULL she’s no longer taking visits anywhere else.
The Ragin’ Cajuns were the first program to offer her a scholarship and it was love at first sight for number 14. “I mean, I just went to the campus and visited,” said Arnoult, “And I loved the coach right off the bat. The campus was the perfect size, like everything was literally perfect. I was like ‘this is the one.’ I obviously took some time and thought about it and made sure and then I just knew.”
Gulfport Head Girls Soccer Coach Chris Pryor said, “We’ve had a couple conversations obviously, not just this year, but in years past as well. She was one of those special players that knew early on that she wanted to play past high school. It was just about understanding what she wanted for herself, finding the right fit, not just soccer wise, but academics as well.”
Arnoult also does select soccer for Gulf Coast United where she plays on the back line, just like she’s going to do at ULL.
