Gulfport School District hires Admiral Alum Myles Gentry as the New Head Baseball Coach!
The blue and orange is celebrating big as Gulfport High School introduces the new skipper in town. The Gulfport School District has officially named Myles Gentry as the new Admiral head baseball coach
“Man it means everything you know, this is home. When this opportunity came about, I couldn’t be more excited. Now that it’s official, I’m ready to get down here and get going,” said new Head Baseball Coach Myles Gentry. “I want to thank our AD Matt Walters, Superintendent Glen East, throughout this process they’ve been great. I feel like there is a plus with me being able to get out there and do some things with them on the field you know, just to get in the trenches with them. Just to be able to interact with them, not only from a coaches standpoint but being able to go out there and do it with them. I feel like that means a lot and goes a long way. I remember talking about this in middle school and high school when I was here that this would be my dream job one day.”
“There’s something to be said being a Gulfport man or Gulfport woman whatever it is but I don’t think at the end of the day you let that be the end all be all. You got to measure the man,” said Gulfport Athletic Director Matt Walters. “When we took a look at it, we got the ultimate winner. I’ve had former teammates of his tell me that everything he touches turns to gold. I’m really excited because of the man he is and not because of where he’s from, necessarily.”
Congratulations to the new Head Baseball Coach, Admiral alum Myles Gentry!
