Gulfport Rotary Club presents 2021 Founder’s Day Award

The Gulfport Rotary Club is known for their community service. Today, at the Hancock Whitney Bank Building in Downtown Gulfport, they awarded a special person with their Founder’s Day Award.

The Gulfport Rotary Club presented Mr. John L. Kelley with the 2021 Founder’s Day Award. Mr. Kelley is a long-time resident of Gulfport, well known for his selfless devotion to Boy Scouts, his church, various other charitable interests, and a World War II veteran of the raid at Los Banos.

Kelley tells News 25 he is very humbled to receive this award. “I heard that it takes a village to raise a child and I think it has taken the City of Gulfport and many residents to be able to have me here today.”

The Gulfport Rotary Club is celebrating 100 years of service to the community.
