Gulfport Power Lines Downed by 18 Wheeler

Parts of Gulfport are still without electricity tonight after an 18-wheeler hit a utility pole and pulled down power lines.
Gulfport Police Sergeant Damon McDaniel says the wreck happened at about 2:20 p.m. at 43rd Avenue and Southwest Railroad Avenue. An 18-wheeler was trying to make a turn. Power was knocked out from Broad Avenue to 38th Street on the south side of the tracks, as well as some areas north of the tracks.
Mississippi Power crews have been working the scene to repair the damage and restore power.
