Gulfport police searching for murder suspect

The Gulfport Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating 34-year-old Stephen Redmond who is wanted on the charge of murder.
On April 4, 2017 at approximately 5:22 p.m., patrol officers responded to an address in the 13000 block of Skye Court in reference to a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he later died.
During a follow up investigation, Redmond was developed as the suspect. Based on the information obtained, a warrant was issued for Redmond’s arrest on the charge of murder.
This investigation is ongoing. What led to the shooting is unknown at this time.
