Gulfport Police investigating Sunday night shooting that left one dead

Gulfport Police are investigating a shooting on Sunday night that left a woman dead.

Police said on Sunday evening, a suspect shot a rifle at an individual in the 3300 block of 39th Avenue. The victim was hit three times and he is in critical condition.

Police believe more than one person was shooting a weapon.

During the gunfire, a victim in an occupied apartment was hit while lying in bed. That victim also was taken to the hospital but died of her injuries.
