Gulfport Police investigating shots fired near Three Rivers Road

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV) – The Gulfport Police Department responded Monday afternoon to the area of Cal Lane and Three Rivers Road where multiple shots were fired at a home.

According to officials, officers were advised a dark colored sedan was traveling in the area and brandishing a firearm. Investigators are working to determine the make an model of the suspect’s car.

Several shots struck the residence. No victims were located at the scene.

Police tell News 25 that a person did report to an area hospital with a gunshot wound in the lower extremity, but it is unknown if these events are related at this time. Investigators are working to establish if there is a relationship between the individual and the incident on Cal Lane.

The investigation into both events is ongoing, and the motive of the incident is unclear at this time.
