Gulfport Police Department welcomes new officer

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- The Gulfport Police Department is welcoming a new member of the force.

Officer Hayden Wyers recently graduated from the Harrison County Law Enforcement Academy.

Officer Wyers also received the Firearms Award during his time at the academy. The department says that after hours of training, testing, studying, and hard work, he is ready to begin his next chapter of serving citizens of Gulfport.

Lt. Jason Ducre also took home an honor at the academy, being selected as favorite instructor.
