Gulfport Piers are under construction

Good news for fishermen. Repairs on piers along the water in Gulfport are ahead of schedule. Demolition of all four piers has been completed and now you can see repairs are beginning. Four of the city’s major piers were heavily damaged during Hurricane Isaac and have been out of commission for quite some time.
Work began at the end of February and was slated to take four months, but the project manager tells News 25 that they are on an aggressive construction path and the piers should be completed sooner.
Officials from the City of Gulfport tell News 25 this is exciting news for the city. They are pleased with the progress of the construction and look forward to having resident back on the pier.
