Gulfport PD Searching for Shooting Suspect

Gulfport Police are searching for a man they describe as armed and dangerous, who is connected to a shooting Thursday that left a man injured.

Police are searching for Allen Christian Whitehead, a 22 year old black male. Authorities are calling him a person of interest, wanted for questioning in the case. He was last seen driving a 2005 black Nissan Altima. The shooting happened about 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of 31st Street. Moments later, a wounded victim entered the Dirt Cheap store on Pass Road and collapsed. Police want to be clear on the location of the shooting.

Damon McDaniel, Public Information Officer for the Gulfport Police Department, says, “The shooting did not occur at Dirt Cheap, nor did it occur in the parking lot. He drove himself here and collapsed inside the business. The shooting did not occur here.”
