Gulfport PD Captures Bank Robbery Suspect
Lacritia Renee Summerlin, 34, has been arrested and charged with armed robbery. The Gulfport Police responded to a call at 9:47 a.m. Friday morning from the First Bank on the corner of Oneal Road and Highway 49. Tellers say a woman wearing a hat entered the bank, brandishing a gun and demanding money. Police say the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Sgt. Damon McDaniel, Public Information Officer for the Gulfport Police Department, says, “The arrest was a result of a collaborative effort between the detective division and the patrol division and some follow-up efforts after the robbery occurred at the bank.”
Information gleaned from the investigation led police to the Reserve Apartments on Three Rivers Road, where police arrested Summerlin at her home.
McDaniel closes, “This investigation is ongoing. Although an arrest has been made, there are some things that they’re still looking into.”
Summerlin was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility. Bond is set at $200,000.
