Gulfport officer returns to light duty following motorcycle accident

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- A Gulfport police office is returning to light duty following a motorcycle accident in April.

Sgt. Jason Cuevas was on his motorcycle when he was hit by a car while on duty. That happened near Harrison Central Elementary School at the intersection of Highway 49 and Dedeaux Road.

The police department says his road to recovery isn’t over just yet, but he is returning to light police work.
