Gulfport native Tasha Monroe sworn in by Judge Midcalf
Today, Gulfport native Tasha Monroe was sworn in as a newly licensed attorney by someone who she has looked up to her entire life.
Since Monroe was a little girl, she has looked up to Harrison County Judge Robin Midcalf. After seeing Midcalf go on to become a successful attorney and judge, Monroe aspired to be just like her.
After graduating from Dillard University, Monroe went one to Western Michigan University Cooley Law School.
Monroe says there were many setbacks, but she didn’t let anything get in the way of her becoming a licensed attorney. “So, I took the Missouri bar exam in July of 2021. I passed the Missouri bar exam and my score is high enough to become licensed in all states. So, now I will, if whenever I move, if I want to become licensed in that state, I can become licensed in that state.”
Monroe says now that she is licensed, she wants to transition to an attorney position in general counsel for a financial institution or for a big corporation.
