Gulfport native takes on role as state Supreme Court Justice
Gulfport, Miss (WXXV)- It was a night of celebration in Gulfport, many gathering for the investiture ceremony of David P. Sullivan. He is taking on the role of a Mississippi Supreme Court Justice.
Friends, family and officials in attendance at The Chimneys watched David Sullivan dawn the robe and of a Supreme Court Justice for District 2, a title he was elected to back in November 2024.
Sullivan is a fourth-generation lawyer and has almost 30 years of legal experience across the state. He was given the ceremonial oath by Chief Justice Mike Randolph, surrounding by his sons, daughters and wife Stefany.
The road to this point was through a tough election and for Sullivan a big part of that success was from the people in attendance.
Justice Sullivan took his official oath of office earlier this year on January 6 at the start of his new term, but it’s custom to have a ceremonial swearing-in.
