Gulfport man sentenced to life in prison for murder
A Harrison County jury found a Gulfport man guilty today of first-degree murder.
Forty-year-old Gabriel Curtis was sentenced to life in prison plus ten years for possession of a weapon by a convicted felon after the 2017 killing of 75-year-old Willis Cassidy Jr.
Chief Assistant District Attorney Crosby Parker said, “After killing Mr. Cassidy, the defendant did not call 911, but instead tried to hide his crime by cleaning up the evidence and taking Mr. Cassidy’s body to a desolate area.”
