Gulfport man sentenced to 10 years for molestation of a juvenile

After keeping it a secret for 15 years, a man has been sentenced for molesting a young girl in Gulfport over a ten year period.

Fifty-year-old Thomas Shaver will serve ten years behind bars. This investigation began in February 2017 when Gulfport police received a complaint that Shaver sexually assaulted the child.

Shaver was undergoing sex addiction therapy when he called the victim of the assault. The victim was able to record the conversation of Shaver confessing to multiple crimes against her when she was underage and turn a copy of the phone call over to police.

Shaver will be required to serve every day due to the nature of the crime.
