Gulfport man pleads guilty to first-degree murder
A Gulfport man pled guilty to first-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison.
District Attorney Joel Smith announced today that 44-year-old Marcos Hosey pled guilty to murdering 34-year-old Arthur Etheridge of Gulfport.
In July 2017, a friend of Etheridge called 911 at approximately 12:49 a.m. as he was driving to Garden Park Hospital. The friend stated Etheridge had been shot after a dispute with the defendant at the O’Neal Road Apartments.
The Gulfport Police Department responded immediately to the site where a shell casing was found in the parking lot.
Detectives say they were able to use an eye witness description of the defendant to locate him later that morning.
