Gulfport man pleads guilty to felony fleeing
After leading police on a high speed chase back in October 2016, 24-year-old Carl Daniel Young Jr. of Mobile pleaded guilty just before his trial was set to begin this week.
Officials say the chase began in Jackson County and continued into Harrison County where Young collided with a car driven by a 22-year-old woman who was seriously injured.
Young was charged with felony fleeing causing serious bodily injury and after his guilty plea this week, he was sentenced the maximum of 20 years in custody.
Five years were suspended, leaving him with 15 years to serve and five years of post-release supervision.
