A Gulfport Man Is Dead After A Late Night Shooting

On June 8, 2016, the Gulfport Police Department arrested 19 year old Gary Desean Perkins, of Gulfport, on the charge of Murder.

The arrest was the result of a patrol response, at 11:26 p.m., to an address in the area of Dogwood Court and Holly Circle in reference to a reported shooting. After arriving on scene, officers located a 38 year old male victim who appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. American Medical Response (AMR) was summoned to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment. The Gulfport Police Department later received information that the victim died as a result of his injuries.

This investigation is ongoing. What led to the shooting is unknown at this time.

After booking and other procedures, Perkins was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility to be held in lieu of $1,000,000.00 bond set by Harrison County Justice Court Judge Melvin Ray.
