Gulfport man charged in drive-by shooting case

A Gulfport man has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault in connection with a drive-by shooting.
20-year-old Brannon Griffin was arrested Tuesday. He was taken to Harrison County jail and bond was set at $500,000.
Gulfport Police responded to a drive-by shooting about 6:42 p.m. in the 10300 block of Old Highway 49. Investigators say the incident began when Griffin’s vehicle was impeding traffic at a signal light. The vehicle behind Griffin honked. Griffin ignored it and continued to block traffic. When the drive behind Griffin attempted to drive around Griffin’s vehicle, he began moving forward to prevent the vehicle from passing.
When the victim eventually maneuvered around, Griffin struck the victim with his vehicle and then pursued them into a parking lot. Griffin drove past and leaned out of the driver’s window, brandishing a firearm and shot multiple rounds, striking the victim’s vehicle.
Griffin was located a short time later and arrested without incident.
