Gulfport Man Arrested for Sexual Battery of a Minor

On May 20, 2016, the Gulfport Police Department arrested 23 –year-old Dominique Montez Macon, of Gulfport, on the charges of Burglary of a Residence and Sexual Battery of a Minor.
Macon’s arrest was the result of a complaint initiated by the father of the victim.
On May 19, 2016 at approximately 10:30 p.m., the victim’s father reported that a described suspect forcibly entered his 9 year old son’s bedroom through a window. While inside the residence, the suspect sexually assaulted the 9 year old victim. Afterward, the suspect fled the residence on foot in an unknown direction.
During a follow up investigation, Macon was identified as the suspect. Based on the information received, warrants were obtained for his arrest.
On May 20, 2016, Gulfport Police detectives located and arrested Macon at his residence without incident. He was then transported to the Gulfport Police Department.
After booking and other procedures, Macon was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility to be held in lieu of a $2,000,000.00 bond set by Harrison County Justice Court Judge Brandon Ladner.
Macon was also off bonded from an October 2015 charge of Cyberstalking which also involved a teenager.
This investigation is ongoing.
