Gulfport makes arrest in drive-by shooting; two suspects still at large

Gulfport Police have made one arrest in a drive-by shooting at a Dedeaux Road store on Monday  two other suspects are still at-large.

Police on Tuesday arrested 21-year-old Jaevon Kenderick Weems and charged him with one count of drive-by shooting. He was taken to Harrison County jail.

On Monday, Olive were called to the 13000 block of Dedeaux Road about 4 p.m. in regard to a shooting.

Officers found shell casings in the parking lot and spoke with witnesses. It was determined that the victim and three suspects—identified as Jaevon Kenderick Weems, Jayquarius Anthony Keyes, and Kaleb Zaches Anderson — had argued.

After buying items, the victim left the store, and the suspects tried to assault him.

The victim entered his vehicle and began leaving the parking lot when Keyes allegedly pointed a firearm at him. Keyes fired the weapon multiple times, hitting the victim’s vehicle as he fled.

After the initial shots, the suspects got into their vehicle and pursued the victim to the 13100 block of Dedeaux Road, where they continued firing before fleeing the area.

Keyes, also known as “Qdub,” is wanted for one count of aggravated assault and one count of drive-by shooting. He is described as a 22-year-old black male, approximately 5’2″ and 140 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.

Anderson is also wanted for one count of drive-by shooting. He is described as a 22-year-old black male, approximately 5’6″ and 165 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.

Keyes and Anderson are considered armed and dangerous.
