Gulfport Hosts Sun & Sand Film Festival at Cinemark Theatre

South Mississippi is taking center stage as two major film festivals raised the curtain Thursday night. One of them is the Sun and Sand Film Festival, an annual event for filmmakers, celebrities, and movie lovers. Festival goers will see the worldwide debut of the feature film, Best of Me, an adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks novel.

The film has several ties to Mississippi. It stars Collins, Mississippi, native, Gerald McRaney, and features a vintage Stingray Corvette that is owned by Jim Dozier of Biloxi. McRainey is best known for his role on the TV series, AJ and AJ. This is just one of many films that will be showcased at the Cinemark Theatre in Gulfport.
