Gulfport History Museum in need of volunteers

Do you have a love for history with an interest in preserving and sharing it?

If you do and have some free time, consider volunteering your time at the Gulfport History Museum. As of now the museum is open Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

They would like volunteers to contribute two and a half hours of their time for a shift and would be a host for guests, welcoming and showing them around the museum. Gulfport Historical Society President Betty Shaw said, “We are also looking for people that are interested in working with our archives. We have collections and donations that haven’t been processed yet and even though I had gloves on before, it’s not brain surgery. It just takes a little patience.”

There will be a meeting to discuss volunteer opportunities at the Gulfport Museum of History Thursday, April 15th at 5:30 p.m. at the depot.
