Gulfport High Signing Day: J.T. Zakkak signs with Mississippi State

Joining Walley in Starkville is Gulfport offensive lineman J.T. Zakkak.

Early this morning, the senior left tackle who was recruited as a center signed his National Letter of Intent with Mississippi State.

A two-star recruit according to 24/7 Sports, Zakkak picked MSU over the likes of South Alabama, Southeastern Louisiana, Nicholls State, and Southern University.

All great four year options, but at the end of the day, given the opportunity to play SEC football in the Magnolia State, Zakkak says it is a now or never opportunity. “I’m really excited. It means a lot. It’s like Christmas Day. It’s like your birthday. You couldn’t sleep last night. You’re just so excited to finally sign the paper. And I’ve always wanted to play for State. It’s always been a big goal of mine. It’s my dream school, and they gave me the opportunity to. And right now two of their centers are graduating, so I just thought it was best to take that leap and go get that spot.”

Zakkak will enroll early at Mississippi State, come January, fresh off helping lead the Admirals to their first playoff victory since 2010.
