Gulfport High Signing Day: Cade Crosby signs with Samford
Another vital component to that win over George County is Senior Quarterback Cade Crosby except he’s going to be throwing a different kind of ball in college, as a Samford baseball signee.
A true dual-sport athlete that excels at both, Crosby had several four year offers to play either one, but in the end, the Gulfport shortstop had to make a call.
It’s the same call he made when he first committed to the Bulldogs all the way back in August. “It was the hardest decision of my life so far and it was really hard. Giving up one that you love and then play another that you love, it was just one of those. Like I said, I prayed about it and I think that this is the best decision for my future. I trust that this is it and hopefully it is and I love Samford and I love the university. I love the coaches and everything.”
Crosby is one of four Gulfport baseball signees so far this fall including senior third baseman and right-handed pitcher Lake Carmichael who put pen to paper with Southwest Mississippi Community College this morning.
