Gulfport High senior asks girlfriend to prom in high-flying fashion
One Gulfport High School senior decided to go above and beyond, quite literally, with his promposal.
Gulfport High senior Cameron Malley asked his girlfriend in a way the two will never forget. Malley and his friend woke up early at 7 a.m. and took a boat out to Cat Island.
The two then spent five hours building and spray painting a ‘prom’ sign in the sand out of branches. Each letter was estimated to be about 30 feet by 15 feet.
Malley then returned to the Coast where he and his girlfriend Maison Smith flew up in a plane over Cat Island to reveal the promposal in the sand.
Smith says that she just thought they were going for a joy ride and did not expect such a sight. “At first I just thought we were going on just a little flight lesson thing, but he told me to dress up and I was like ‘oh okay!’ and then I saw the big letters in the sand and I was like ‘oh my gosh that is so sweet!’ It’s our last prom so it made it really special for me.”
Smith answered the promposal with a resounding yes.
