Gulfport High School students in D.C.

Today, the group of Gulfport High School students on a mission to provide a vending machine for homeless students in the school district attended an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. to find out if they were one of three groups nationwide to take home part of Samsung’s $2 million Solve for Tomorrow contest.
Gulfport was not chosen as one of the top three, but they are still walking away with more than $50,000 in technology for the high school and a great experience. While in D.C. they had the chance to meet with U.S. Senator Roger Wicker and CEO of Samsung Gregory Lee.
These seniors will graduate next month, but hope the project will still come to fruition as they pass it along to the next group of students.
