Gulfport High School honors veterans

Gulfport High School honored veterans today to show their appreciation.

Culinary students prepared breakfast for those who served. After breakfast, everyone walked down to the gym where a bigger celebration was planned.

The principal welcome guest speakers who expressed how grateful they were to have a huge support system for those who served our country.

The school’s band, choir, and cheerleading team also paid tributes through patriotic song and dance. Career Technical Education Director Dr. Thomas Brooks said, “It’s important for everyone to celebrate our veterans, not just Veterans Day, but every single day. They sacrificed a lot to ensure that we have the freedoms that we enjoy each and every day. Students and being apart of this district that really appreciates what our veterans have done for us over the years and throughout the history of our nation.”

This was the first time the school did a Veterans Day Celebration and plan to do it again next year.
