Gulfport High partners with Bollinger for workforce training for students

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- The Gulfport School District is teaming up with Bollinger Shipyards to give high school students a direct path into the shipbuilding industry.

The new ‘Bollinger NextGen Shipbuilders’ program will provide Gulfport High students with hands-on training in welding, pipefitting, electrical work, maritime carpentry, and rigging and fitting.

Students will train at Bollinger’s training facility with instruction and mentorship from industry professionals.

Applications for the first group of students will open this school year.
