Gulfport Harbor Lights makes its way back to Jones Park

Last year, the Most Magical Show in Mississippi was canceled due to Hurricane Zeta damages, but this year, the Gulfport Harbor Lights Winter Festival is back.

Since September 29th, Gulfport city workers have been working hard putting up the magical Christmas displays.

The show began in 2015 as just light displays, but over the years, the show has expanded into Mississippi’s largest Christmas light show with over 1.5 million lights throughout 40 acres in Jones Park.

Some attractions have been updated such as Santa’s village and another train has been added.

Jase Payne, Gulfport communications manager, says he is looking forward to the turnout this year. “The public was very sad, as we were too, last year when we had to cancel but unfortunately Zeta had different plans for us last year. So, we have received great feedback. People are tagging their friends on our Facebook channels, our social media channels, and letting them know what nights they are coming and so the community has had a great response not only from the local community but from our regional visitors as well.”

The Gulfport Harbor Light Show opens November 26th and runs until December 31st. Adult tickets are $15. Kids ages five to 12 are $5, and kids under four get in free. The gates will open each night at 5:30 and close at 10:30.

The light show will be closed on Christmas Eve.
