Gulfport Flooding Issues

Flooding was also a concern from today’s heavy rain for residents in the Orange Grove area.
Nearly three weeks removed from severe weather that caused massive floods and evacuations, backed up water once again threatened resident’s homes and businesses on Three Rivers Road.
Water damage continues to plague the community as flood waters reached resident’s front steps. Just three weeks ago, Free Will Baptist Church was completely flooded causing massive damage inside the building. As they worked on repairing it today, they could only watch as water once again made it to their front door. Pastor Eddie Young said, “Oh boy. Yeah, our thoughts were ‘oh my goodness, we defeated the purpose here. What are we going to do now?’ Well, I hope to see the city, the street department, whoever it is, and really take care of the problem in our area.”
Residents and leaders in the community ask leaders of the city to help fix this problem before it hurts them again.
